youtube laggin on evo!

I rarely watch youtube, but someone happened to tell me about how good the Black Ops commercial was (the one with Kobe, Kimmel, etc.) Boy... it sucked even with 4G. Took me 5 minutes to finish watching it. I'm rooted/OMJ.

Let's see... open YouTube app, it takes several seconds to load, type in the search and it takes a few seconds to get the results. Then click on the video and watch the spinning circle until I fall asleep. I suddenly wake up when I hear the video play for 2 seconds but just as quickly it stops playing, buffers for 26 seconds... plays for .2 seconds... buffers for 30 seconds... plays for .5 seconds... buffers for 10 seconds... then get an error message saying the video can't be played. This is always my experience with YouTube or any streaming videos. Sprint 3g service has slowed to a crawl. I think Sprint is throttling data or else there data services have been cut in half in the past several months! Houston/Galveston, TX area. Sprint used to be super fast but not anymore.

Oh... and I pay $20 bucks per month extra for mine and my wife's evo's for premium data services!!! Poo on Sprint! If this keeps on I'm switching to T-mobile for the HTC 7

When I first got my EVO in October I didn't have any issues watching YouTube in HQ over 3G. The video loads up fast and I even updated the app. I was happy with it. It was until when I rooted my phone and I was using a custom rom I started to notice the slowdown. the videos takes longer to buffer even when I'm not watching it in HQ over 3G. I have to rely on WiFi to watch my videos now. It's been said around the net that its the app itself is the problem for the slowdown.

I started having them lagging issues when i Updated the youtube app to the new one. Plus I agree their 3G service has slow down, I even went to the Sprint Tech Store here in Indiana and they told me it was because of some apps on my EVO, that was slowing the connection speed down. I dont know but I cleaned my phone and still Im having slow speeds, probably because of the number of customers they have.


Them telling me it was because of some apps, was like me going to the mechanic and he telling me, "I needed some muffler bearings on my car"
