Htc evo not booting

I need some serious help because I don't know what's wrong with my Evo. I was trying to install a new theme so I turned off my phone and turn it back on by pressing the volume down to get to the boot screen. I selected clear storage and it's done I selected recovery so I could select the zip file for the theme I wanted to install. After selected recovery option my phone went back to the

FASTBOOT USB

<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item

BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN

screen and it won't give me the option to select my zip file. I tried to reboot it to turn on the phone completely, but it kept repeating the bootanimation process with sound I installed before over and over. So when that happens, my only option is to take out the battery and put it back in again. I don't know what else to do. I want to use my phone, but it won't let me. So please anyone I need help real bad.

You may have to reload a stock rom back on your phone and then re-root. I believe you can connect to your computer while in fastboot usb screen and push a stock rom downloaded to your computer.

Did you root your phone? Custom rom?

Yes I did root it and everything was just fine until I tried to install a new rom.

It won't let me select the rom I want to install because after I select Recovery to get there it goes back to FASTBOOT screen. Also when I boot it up without pressing down the volume button, it keeps looping the bootanimation I installed which was fine. So I will try again.

When I connect the USB it says "USB device not recognized", but before it didn't give me that message because it was working fine.

Yes it was resolved. My brother has the EVO as well and he was able to help me out, so thanks to him. The reason mine wasn't working was because I flashed a theme that wasn't compatible with my phone and it froze at boot up. When that happened I mistakenly selected the option that says clear storage after I turned on the phone by pressing and holding the volume down to get to the HBOOT area. So what he did was reinstalling the PC3600IMG and everything was back to normal.
