Wireless tether with 4G ????

Are you on the latest pre12 version? the slow 4g issue should have been resolved for the evo ever since pre10-11

after installing latest version try wiping the app data with titanium.

Cool. I was unable to use pre 11. I changed kernels today to Netarchy 4.2 beta. I dont know if that will make a difference with pre 11 but I know pre7 will only let me get by with 3g speeds when in 4g mode. Thanks for the response

looks like pre 12 is now working ( not sure if new kernel helped) . I will try 4g tomorrow out in field as my 4g at home is one of the few bad spots around Dallas area. We have pretty good 4g coverage here but when i am inside the house it is fringe area. I cant wait to get me some real 4g tethering going on...

well pre12 version at least works on my phone now, but when i am tethering in 4G with it, I can still only hit slow 3g speeds on the laptop (works fine on other wireless networks) . I topped out today, in very strong 4g area while tethering in 4G with mobile network disconnected, at downstream of .41 and up of .67 . IF anyone has any ideas besides changing ROMS on what could be limited my thoughput, please give a guess. Not ready to flash a new one just yet but will if needed. right now I am running OTA _Supersonic_3.29.651.5 Deox'd and is very stable with no force closes, etc hardly ever.

Have you tried clearing your app data for android-wifi-tether?

Do you have Adfree/adblock apps installed?

Just a thought, but are you running the latest radio releases? I received slower 4G speeds when I had the old Wimax radio. I updated the radio and from the very same location the same day I noticed a dramatic and positive difference. Give it a shot.

yes to all the above questions, have updated radios few times, cleared data for app, and definitely no adblocks installed as I have seen them cause many issues with 4g .
