I'm Confused about 3.30.651.2 update

Ok, Call me confused... my wife and I both have evo's, I have had mine since June 4...my wife about 2-3 weeks. My software version is 3.29.651.5 and within a day of my wife getting hers she received the same update. A few weeks ago the 3.30.651.2 showed up and was said to be "Official" however neither my wife nor I have received the 3.30.651.2 update. I just talked one of my co-workers into getting an EVO and today he showed me his. His phone had the 3.30.651.2 version, why would he have it and not others?...

Has anyone gotten the update "OTA"?

I don't think the 3.30 update has been officially released yet......only a leak

If thats true...why did my co-workers phone already have it when he got his phone yesterday?

dunno...go to menu, settings. system updates.....if there is no 3.30 update available then they have released it yet.....dont know what else to tell u.....maybe the new phones are coming w/ 3.30, but they havent pushed the OTA yet.

yeap maybe co worker root his phone with the update.

Evidently htc used/is using a slightly different camera module on the newer evo. It has nothing to do with root. I've seen roms using it but as far as i know its just to integrate the different camera into the rom. BTW i have an evo with this software. When i launch any video chat the phone reboots. In some cases (tango) caused my phone to reboot constantly, so much so that i couldn't even remove the program and had to hard reset.

There is no possible way he rooted his phone....He would NEVER root his phone.... He is a Standard guy all the way. When I brought up that he might root it in the future he said if it is not stock he does not want it. He won't even install programs that are not in the market.

Yeah I've seen custom roms using it...but this is the first time I had seen a stock evo running it. Asked him and he has 0003 hw.
