Help! Camera Dead - Blank Screen

So I've had my EVO for 24 hours. Yesterday, the camera and everything worked fine.

I tried to use it today, and app launches, but the screen is blank. I have to hit Home a few times for it to close out. The app still runs in the background. If I let it sit on the blank screen, it will eventually say "Tap the screen to activate the camera" but that doesn't do anything but go back to the blank screen.

I've hard reset and left the battery out for 20 minutes.

Any ideas??

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I'm just hoping this isn't a common or recurring problem.. or a sign of the phone's durability.

Haven't heard much of this complaint. I would surely demand an exchange and let them demionstrate that the replacement works correctly.

same issue here, new phone and camera will not work. im flashing the RUU to see of it fixes it. if not ill be going tomorrow to exchange it.

well im number 2 with the issue and flashing the RUU did not fix it. i called the sprint dealer and they will exchange for me tomorrow. it may have something to do with a hardware revision perhaps? the guy i spoke to did not seem too surprised by my issue.

I did try to root... but it didn't work. Why? Is that a bad idea right now?

I went to the Sprint store and the rep got me a replacement without any questions or hesitation. I was out in 10 minutes.
