Just got a used EVO, how can I easily tell if it's been rooted.
I just picked up a good used EVO from a guy and he claims that he rooted it a while back but did not install a custom ROM. The problem is that I can not tell if it is rooted. I know how to hold the volume down and press the power button, but I am not sure what to look for. Any tips?

instell terminal and type in su the # should change to a $ or vis-versa

I assume this means no huh? Well I have already DLed all the rooting stuff I need so I better get to work. I have already researched a few methods of rooting. Anyone have a suggested (preferably easier) method of rooting? I am running android 2.2 with build number 3.29.651.5 if that matters.

Once uou are on hboot wait a minute and then hit power button and hboot usbplug will be at top now not on bottom of list.

At the end the phones reboots and the flashed says 'Done. Recovery Image: ClockworkMod Recovery

What does Clockwork say? Do you have Clockworkmod in apps?
