Question about themes and odexed ROMS

Am I correct is thinking there pretty much isnt much Im going to be able to do (themes or things like custom clocks, etc) having an odexed ROM installed (stock Sprint + root)? Im going to have to flash a deodexed ROM to install anything like that?

correct. deodexed=themes. idk about things like panda home theme which = $$$$$$$$ for app/$$$$$$$$$$ for theme to work on app$ like that.

If I flash a stock deodexed ROM, will I be able to get updates OTA or will I need to flash them once theyre deodexed?

I'm on my first deodexed rom (i prefer stock over custom) and i'm going to guess it is the same. Rooted is rooted. OTA may pop up, you may even download it, but the install always fails. If you don't have stock hboot it doesn't install. But again i have always ran odexed roms and that has always been the end result. got my evo a week after launch and rooted hard way after that.
