Listen to music on my EVO thru my car's speakers?

I have an interesting challenge. I have an Audi A4 convertible 2009 with bluetooth that enables me to talk on the phone with my EVO. I am not sure it is the "special" kind of bluetooth that will let me listen to music on my radio sent via the bluetooth to the car's speakers. If it is possible, I dont' know how to do it.

Also..is there anyway that I can broadcast via my EVO to an empty FM station? Has anyone ever heard of doing that? I just want to listen to music and no, there is NO aux jack in the car.

Thanks

Mike

Re: Listen to music on my EVO thru my car's speakers?

I'd say your best bet is to look through the owners manual if you haven't already. A2Dp I believe allows music transfer. I have a Dual XHD6425 Stereo that I use in My truck to do this.

May be a setting on the receiver that allows it.

They make cheap FM trasmitters that plug in to your headphone jack and broadcast to a blank FM channel. Quality is quite poor though from what I remember.

Re: Listen to music on my EVO thru my car's speakers?

Does the car have an auxillary plug? My car has an auxillary channel that I switch to and just plug my iPod in with a normal stereo cable. I havent tried with my Evo, but Id imagine it'd work the same

Re: Listen to music on my EVO thru my car's speakers?

I don't know if you took the time to read my post from about 3 post down from yours but I am using an external FM transmitter to broadcast from my phone to my radio because the EVO doesn't support FM transmission.

Lol its amazing how people cant seem to read through a whole post and see that you already stated the car doesnt have an aux outlet. Also a 2009 Audi and it doesnt have an aux jack what the heck I thought that was pretty standered now days lol. I am guessing you want to stream pandora or something similar. You could get an external fm transmiter or you could purchase an aftermarket head unit that supers aux.

Yup, fm transmitter or new head unit. Search here and you will find a dozen threads and solutions to this, I opted for a Pioneer Z-120BT head unit in my 06 Mustang GT....Love It!!

One more option which is what I did, you can buy a aftermarket solution for your stock head unit (stereo) if it has a option for a external MD/CD changer it converts it to a aux hardwire input. Crutchfield, Grom Audio, Ebay is where you can find them. I paid like $60 for the adapter and cable, some would argue that you might as well buy a new unit. My Mazda has a 6 disc in-dash with 7 speaker (including sub) stock that I was happy to convert for the price. ymmv

Inside your glove compartment there should be a wire to connect to your Ipod to use it over the car's speaker system, you should be able to buy a connector from audi to convert it, to standard Aux imput.

Edit* Sorry just checked, you cannot get a converter from audi, but they do sell a bluetooth addition to add to your MMI, it's a little pricy though.
