No 4G after using unrEVOked??

Hey guys...i just used unrEVOked yesterday to root my phone, and was able to use it just fine yesterday with wifi tether on the 4G network. I tried to scan for a 4G network today, and was not able to connect (and yes.. a 4G network was available). Any suggestions? Anyone else having problems with 4G? Thanks

Re: No 4G after using unrEVOked??

4G still works after I used Unrevoked.

However, the problem with my phone running REALLY slow when 4G is on still persists....

Re: No 4G after using unrEVOked??

Just did a little test on different locations....looks like they must have been having problems with the tower at the location i am at. Guess I'll have to wait to see if sprint fixes it....

Unrevoked 3.21 does not change your radio or touch anything that has to do with 4G.. It just roots your phone, turns s-off, flashes a recovery and puts the required tools..

Re: No 4G after using unrEVOked??

I recently noticed that my 4g connection doesn't work. I had used easy root originally to root my phone, but I don't know if this is related. I was originally using OMJ and now switched to fresh, but this hasn't solved the issue. I just wish that we could enter 4g as a search term on this site, that would make solving this problem a lot easier.

Re: No 4G after using unrEVOked??

I had just recently fixed a broken 4G on my phone so there are a few links that proved helpful. Basically what it boils down to is that if your MAC address did not change in any of the processes that might have broken the 4G, then there is hope. Apparently, if the MAC changed to a generic MAC address, you're kind of hosed. If not, I wiped a tree.xml file using adb and let the phone regenerate it's MAC address. It has worked for me. I also flashed the newest radio and Wiimax files as stated in the thread below. Follow the original post and then jump to post 157 for the adb instructions in resetting the tree.xml file. It took a lot of reading and it boiled down to this.

Re: No 4G after using unrEVOked??

I used unrevoked and I recently used the 4g in orlando and it worked fine. You should reflash your phone or redo the unrevoked.

Try re-flashing the wimax radio.

Re: No 4G after using unrEVOked??

I've heard advice against flashing anything that touches WiMax.. YMMV

Best advice, is hopefully you have done an Amon_RA nandroid back up, you can then restore "YOUR" WiMax settings - clockworkmod recovery nandroid back up, does not back up the WiMax portion unfortunately.

Again Rooting via unrevoked 3.21 does not touch your "ROM", that's why you don't even need to wipe when using it..

Flashing custom ROMs "may" possibly break WiMax and or other portions of your phone's features. But this is a risk you take, hopefully you're reading every step needed, before taking these risks.
