overclock latest htc kernel with setcpu?

I know the app has this capability. but i cannot OC it with the preflock option. any1 know if its possible?

i had a custom netarchy kernel before the latest OTA, but none give me the batt life of the latest HTC kernel. its like back in the 2.1 days. full work day and half my evening on heavy use. but id love to OC it while its charging, like i was doin wit the netarchy.

any1 have any luck with this?

I thought overclocking was a feature of kernels. So, if the kernel doesn't support it then it doesn't matter if setcpu has the ability or not.

You can't overclock with the stock kernel.

Why does the preflock option on setcpu say its possible when it isn't? Do i need a unlocked stock kernel?

Go look at the disable perflock pop up that comes up when selected and you'll see it says nothing's about overclocking. It's purpose is to allow setcpu to set frequencies when a stock kernel is preventing it.

hmph, i stand corrected. where can i find a edited stock kernel?
