using voice to text with swype?

the regular EVO keyboard shows the MIC where you can talk and it converts to text. If one is using the SWYPE keyboard, is there a way to still do this since there is no microphone icon?

Thanks..

Re: using voice to text with swype?

Nope. It only comes on the "consumer" editions that get packaged in the stock ROMs of phones like the galaxy S line and the G2.

Re: using voice to text with swype?

If you use Handcent, then you can do it by hitting Menu, then selecting "Speak"

Re: using voice to text with swype?

It is just a couple of extra clicks.

Hold your finger down on the text entry window,
select 'input method',
select 'touch input',
speak to text what you want and then do the steps above again to switch back to swype.
It really only takes a few seconds.

Yes but when I am in the car using my gps with bluetooth I press the voice dial on my gps and speak. That is when I want a confirmation. My old tp2 had that.

Re: using voice to text with swype?

Actually for everyone's information I have a working copy of Swype with the voice mic button. It came off of a friends Samsung phone with Swype pre installed from the factory.

djqwikcut if you want a copy pm me your email address and I will send it to ya.
