voice dial question..

Coming from the HTC TP2, the voice dial had an option to VERIFY before it dialed. It would ask you if what it thought you wanted from what you said was correct or not. How do I do this on the EVO? I have been using voice dial with bluetooth on my GARMIN and when I say a name, if its wrong, it still dials it and I would like it to ASK ME. over 50% of the time the name it picks out is incorrect...

Re: voice dial question..

You dont have this option on google voice dial. Have you tried Vlingo free from the market. It has that option. You need to go into the setting and enable it. Not sure if it will work with a bluetooth device though.

An application that may help: Call Confirm.

That app wont work because it doesn't work with bluetooth and requires you to look at screen

Re: voice dial question..

I think this implementation of GVD is horrible. The update to GV search made it more functional but still didn't add any confirmation ability which, imho, is unnacceptable. I say who I want to call and if it didn't pick up what I said, it AUTO dials anyone in my contacts without any warning.

Re: voice dial question..

It does work with Bluetooth, but not the way you are wanting it to work.

Re: voice dial question..

Any comment on my suggestion regarding Vlingo? You need 2.2 though. I don't use bluetooth so I cant confirm if it will say it over the BT device. But it will do it if youre using just the phone earpiece or speaker mode.
