Any way to have a specific file as an icon?

For instance, say you want an icon on one of the 7 Sense pages to open a specific Excel file that has an item list and prices (or whatever). Is there a way to do that, or a program that will accomodate that? I've tried Shortcut, etc., on both 2.1 and 2.2, and there doesn't seem to be a way

just did it..but you need astro file manager. add a shortcut, pick 'astro' find your file. walla.. a shortcut to it

edit: doesnt seem to work well w/ videos that cant play through the default video player. i'm guessing the files must be able to be viewed through default programs, else the link will just take you to a 'does not work' error message.
