Can't connect to WiFi

I picked up an Evo yesterday, and I love it. But it will not connect to my wifi at home. I can connect to my wifi at work, and other devices connect just fine at home, but my Evo gets stuck at "obtaining IP address".

Any idea of what to do? I've rebooted my router, which didn't help.

Re: Can't connect to WiFi

Try taking off the security on your routers SSID. If you can connect, its probably a wep/wpa key error.

This worked, so I did a hard reset on my router and now everything is fine. Thanks much.

Side note: They just turned on 4g in my area. It misses my house by 5 blocks.

Re: Can't connect to WiFi

I'm getting the continuous "obtaining ip address" as well. I've tried resetting my router, tried removing the security, tried switching from g to b, tried changing the channel from 6 to 9, tried applying MAC filters. Nothing helps. Any clues? It is a "Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless Base Station (MN-700)"

Thanks!

I have the same modem and the same issue. My phone shows up as DHCP'd on my Modem so I am going to flush the modem and see if that helps. I know it is not the phone because I was just connecting at Borders. I'll let you know what I discover.

Re: Can't connect to WiFi

I am still stuck. I have another radio so I am going to string it off the MN-700 and connect to it, just to see.

Re: Can't connect to WiFi

Got it figured. Apparently, the last update retired 802.11b\g. Today, I was installing a Wifi bridge at my wife's school. The first bridge I used was 11b\g. I was not able to connect to it with my Evo. Later on I switched it out with an 11n and I connected w\o problem.

Before the last update, I was able to connect to my 11g MN-700 WiFi radio. So it is either the root process (I doubt) or the update that dropped 11g. No big deal. I have been planning to by a 11n radio and putting the old one downstairs where the signal is weak.
