There is a second blinking light on EVO! No root needed!
There is a second blinking light (top right corner) of the earpiece. Does green, orange, and red and you can set its blink rate! Works perfect on my EVO!
How to use WiMAX LED on HTC EVO for SMS/MMS notifications Thanks to bludragon742 at XDA!

Yep, I didn't know about it either...but I just bought mine recently and coming from WinMo TP with much better notifications this is a welcome addition. Thanks.

Yeah, I had never heard of this before either. I had heard that they were working on custom "blinking notifications" but I had no clue there was a second light involved. It's all good though!

Re: There is a second blinking light on EVO!
From what I read, the first versions needed root but this version does not. I have been using it now for...um...4 hours (lol) with a multitude of texts and not one problem.
See, I get hundreds of calls, mostly creditors, and I have a 1 year old. So I keep my phone on silent so he can sleep and when the wife texts me, I need to know. And since this is a separate light with different colors, I can keep my phone on charge and still know when she texts without having to check it multiple times. |

Re: There is a second blinking light on EVO!
As much as I love PPCGeeks forum, for the EVO, XDADEV site is where all the action is. If you don't have an account there, get one.
Compared to the 100 or so new posts in the evo area here in a day, they get 100 an hour. Word of warning, better read and search A LOT before asking questions. Pretty tough crowd over there. Post something that's been asked 20 other times and folks there will jump all over you. |
