Overclocking EVO

I just rooted my phone and am running set cpu, but I cannot get it to go beyond 1GHz. From reading it seems that I may need a new kernal? I have searched and can't seem to find anything. Let me know how to accomplish this. Thanks in advance and sorry for the noob question.

Re: Overclocking EVO

Thanks. I am rooted with unrevoked. It looks like I might not be able to change the kernal with unrevoked, is that correct?

Re: Overclocking EVO

SUPER android noob question: From what I understand overclocking will drain your battery even more. Here is the question... Is it possible to underclock? and could underclocking improve your battery life?

Re: Overclocking EVO

Can anyone point me to a step by step breakdown for what I would need to do to upgrade the kernal? Thanks in advance.

The steps to flashing a kernal are the exact same as flashing a rom or any other zip. All the information you need can be found in the stickies.

Re: Overclocking EVO

Thanks everyone for their help. I have been trying to read up and it seems that a lot of these kernals have issues with stability and some wont work with an unrevoked root. Can anyone point me in the direction of a kernal that is very stable or is that unrealistic? Thanks in advance everyone.
