Text Message Bug? P*$$ me off. :-)

Using the stock Text messaging app, if I am carrying on a conversation with someone, and leave the text message open and they send a second message, I get no notification.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Do not tell me to use Handsent or Chomp, I like the stock app except for this one bug.

Mine doesnt notify me awake or asleep. I have checked both notifications areas.

I am getting in the habit of backing out of the conversation, but having not had to do that for years on previous phones, its hard to remember. LOL

Hahahaha....

I had the Epic, and hated the keyboard. When the Epic came out, I had Sprint ship me both the Epic and Evo, since they have a nice 30 day return policy. I would switch between both phones for a few days, and after about a week, it was clear that they keyboard on the Epic really sucks, when you come from something like the Touch Pro 2.

I hate this too, it doesnt notify me when the phone is alive or asleep, and sometimes the text doesnt even come through, until i exit out and come back it. its a bad idea by HTC (or Google?) to do it this way, it should at least have a setting to turn this on or off.

This bug does not exist on 2.1? Maybe we can use the 2.1 messaging app. Can anyone else confirm this bug doesnt exist on 2.1?

Thanks
