noob needing help... again :(

my phone was rooted and i was running Damage Control 3.5 everything was cool.
i decided to be an idiot and try to do a manual update of the new OTA.
i used this method... Stock 3.29.651.5 PC36IMG.ZIP Format - xda-developers

all the steps completed except for [5] BOOT - Fail pu

then my phone was stuck in clockwork recovery.. i could get anything to recover. so i did a restore and and then it was boot looping.

SO i grabbed an older version of PC36IMG.ZIP i have and tried again... it finally worked and i got Android running again.

BUT now i am back to 2.1...

so if i run a software update it says im up to date even though im on 2.1.

what do i need to do to get my radio updated to the latest and be able to install a rooted ROM again? i don't even know if i am rooted anymore.

if you have superuser access you have half root
if at hboot at the top you see s-off you have nand unlock
if you have both you have full root


just use this it will update radios and wimax and will bring you up to 2.2

i tried that but it doesn't seem to work. it says Checking PC36IMG.zip and then it just goes back to the hboot or whatever that screen is. it never asks me if i want to update.

Whenever I have problems like this I would go back to stock... I've attached the 3.26.651.6 image. I ripped it directly from the shipped RUU. Just for S and G's I like to completely wipe my card before before flashing. Thats just me. Rename it PC36IMG and place it on the root of your SD card. Start your device in bootloader and cross your fingers. I know this sounds a bit condescending but you cant go wrong following instructions.
