From where I stand, either Shoot Me or Screenshot are tools you use primarily to show a problem, like an error message that you post here. Lack of WiFi Tether is a real problem always, because you never know when you will need or want it, for real world conditions when nothing else is wrong. So until WiFi Tethering works for free in a non-rooted Evo, and considering how easy it is to root, I don't understand the desire to avoid rooting. Everything about it is positive, and nothing of any consequence is negative.
