Rooted 2.1 Help Can't up -> 2.2

Hi, I have Stock 2.1 rooted. Tried to upgrade to RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.26.651.6_Radio_2.15. 00.07.28_NV_1.71_003_release_147044_signed
Didn't take. I'm on win 7 ult 64 bit. I manage to sync but when it gets to the part where you click on upgrade the pc downloads boot drivers and stops the upgrade. After this It wont allow me to redo the upgrade. I can manage to Sync but once i start exe. it disconnects the sync. Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

are you trying to loose your root?? ,, the RRU's are usually stock set ups

Sounds like you're trying to flash a new ROM without following the steps to get from 2.1 to 2.2. You can't just flash it using HTC Sync. You have to follow the steps here:

This is the manufactures RUU. He should be able to just run the exe from his PC and follow the promps. I had the same problem and said screw it. But you are right. He should just do the root process. That is how I got past it.

I'm trying to upgrade from 2.1 stock rooted to 2.2 stock. Would prefer it to be stock 2.2 rooted, but if can't get that, then 2.2 stock and after I'll do the unrevoked 3...

just flash a rooted 2.2 rom. here's the newest stock rom w/ the OTA that came out 9/22 [ROM] OTA_Supersonic_3.29.651.5 [ROOTED] [DEODEXED] [SIGNED] - xda-developers

(but this is assuming you have full root..and not unrevoked 1)
