Help Plz! Wireless Tether Limited or No connectivity

Sorry guys but I cant get wifi tethering to work (downloaded WIRELESS TETHER from the arket) on my froyo 2.2 it is rooted and it starts. i then try to connect my laptop and I do but then it says limited or no connectivity with an exclamation point. Please help me if you can.

Haven't bothered tethering for awhile but the last time I did it, I had to uninstall HTCSync to get it to work. I think a driver was causing interferrence.

You are not using the right version. You need Wireless Tether app version 2.0.5-Pre7:

yep u need the rite version im was using this one wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre7.apk n didnt work i got the same problem as u.. then i downloaded the pre8.apk n works fine... wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre8.apk

Dont download the junk from the market.

Pre 8 works awesome but you need superuser access as with all wireless tether

The market version doesn't work with EVO on 2.2. You need experimental pre7+

i kno that mobile hotspot and wireless tether are essentially the same, but I'm curious as to whether or not they function the same...?? Mobile Hotspot advertises that it handles up to 8 devices all on 4G, at optimal performance... Well on wifi tether, I have 4, and there is some noticeable lag not much but it's there, and also I'm not in a 4G area yet so I'm sure that has something to do with it... But just seeing if anyone who's had legit Mobile Hotspot than rooted and went with Wifi Tether, noticed whether or not either had an advantage on the other..??

Quick question, have you tried rebooting your laptop?? Most people that have problems with wireless tether is fixed after they reboot their laptop.
