EVO Input problems

Okay, it seems to me like i have a unique problem, or noone is posting it online. Im usually good with these kinds of things but it is getting extremely annoying. When my phone is coming off of a sleep or even sometimes randomly, i cannot input text. When i type on the keyboard, nothing shows up although it is registering as me typing on the keyboard. after about 2 minutes it lets me type, not to lag, but to start typing then. Its very annoying when you have to answer an urgent message or something along the way. Its not just messaging app but the search app and so on. Ive tried new keyboards, deleting old texts, messing with settings, re-calibrating, turning it off and on, and so on. Its getting real annoying and only started after the 2.2 update. I hope one of you can help me out or point me to a similar thread or something, because i did search, just coming up with no luck. Thank you

Re: EVO Input problems

What apps do you have installed? It could be an app causing the lag input. Also are you rooted or using a different ROM other than the official one? These are all questions we need to know so we can help you out. I'm on stock 2.2 on the Evo and I havn't had that issue before. Post what your running or remove some apps that you may think are causing the problem. You can also try a hard reset but make sure your contacts are sync to your google account and jot down what apps you have. Some 2.1 apps don't work well with 2.2 so be aware of that too.

Re: EVO Input problems

If it's actually an urgent message, why not use the phone? If text messaging had between invented before phone calls, it would be laughably old fashioned by now. I know that doesn't solve your issue, and I agree with the others that it's an app or the ROM, or an installation problem with the ROM. Are you doing backups periodically and saving them sequentially elsewhere? You might want to try and roll back if you have done that.
