Evo in Canada?

Do any of you knowledgable folk know if/when we might see the HTC Evo for sale in Canada?

The evo itself is specific only to sprint but I am sure there will be an htc device similar to the evo in specs that may be available like the htc desire hd for example. Not sure if it has the front facing camera but everything else is basically the same.

Not the HTC EVO itself, but possibly some variants.. it's likely.

I've never handled a Desire - a visiting friend had an Evo, and it seemed like a delightful alternative to an iPhone. How does the Desire stack up in that category?

I have a Touch Diamond currently, but I've found (unlike many members of this site) that I don't need the awesome customizability that such a device allows. I'm not looking to cook my own ROM or whatever... and I have been envying the smooth functionality of a friend's iPhone. Seems a lot more "fun" than my phone, even if my phone can do more hardcore stuff.

I don't want to get an iPhone though, because Steve Jobs sucks.

Advice from the experts would be appreciated, but remember, my priorities are probably different from many on this site.

i believe the htc desire is the successor to the nexus one which was a great phone.

my hometown is mississauga, so i cant wait to go back and show off the EVO to my friends lol. too bad i wont be able to make calls or use data unless its wifi since i dont want to pay an arm and a leg in roaming charges.

I thought you could have Canada roaming added to your plan for like $4.99/month? Or does that just make the roaming charges cheaper?
