What progress? it isnt a priority because most of the developers already defeated the original release....however, I am sure someone will start the progress once more Evo's with stock 2.2 make it out into the world. With only 5 or 6 Evo's being shipped out at a time, the progress will be quite slow.

Re: All Evo Froyo 2.2 "is it rooted yet" talk

My god... you gotta be kidding me! EVO non-rooted blows the pants off of all the crap TP2 builds any day of the week! I also have energy on my TP2... but it is sitting in a drawer and only pulled out as a spare when I need to tether. All TP2 builds are junk otherwise. EVO is great even without stock. So are you just going back to the TP2 because you want to make some form of impatient statement? Because no one really cares that you can't wait. Hell, I am in the same boat as you... I can't wait either... but they really don't give a crap about that.

Damn!

Thats harsh man. Because of where I work I really need to tether just to keep my sanity, hence the decision to go back to the TP2. My Evo will sit in a drawer in my RV until the time is right.

EXACTLY... You can either keep your TP2 signed up as a spare... and pay $9 per month for an additional line where it is only good for tethering... or pay $10 once and use PDAnet. but switching entirely is just retarded.

I don't blame you too much for switching back to tp2 but I have both a custom rom tp2 and a non rooted evo and the evo blows the custom tp2 out of the water. Plus you can use either pdanet or easy tether and it works awesome. Easy tether seems to have faster connections. Don't get me wrong, as soon as 2.2 is rootable with unrevoked or 1 click root I will probably do it. But I definetly will not go back to tp2. I only have tp2 for when I travel out of the country since it has an unlocked sim.
