Remove OTA update

I am new to the Android OS and was rather savvy with WM OS, but am lost in the dark here.

I have an unrooted Evo and this week installed the OTA update. For reasons that are irrelevant I am wondering if there is any way to remove this update and return to stock ( i believe it was 2.1).

Thanks in Advance

Re: Remove OTA update

From my understanding (also a long time winmo user) you would have to have been rooted before you updated to Froyo in order to roll back.

All us non rooted Froyo users are waiting for the Devs out there to get us a new root option.

If you think of it in winmo terms, you're waiting for someone to unlock the SPL so you can flash a new rom onto the device. That rom can be unrooted or rooted.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm still new to Android too.

Re: Remove OTA update

If you are having issues I would recommend wiping the phone clean and starting with a fresh 2.2 rather than a 2.2 that started off in 2.1 (basically do a factory reset via the SD & Phone Storage section in Settings)

I am rooted and did this I am happy as can be. Phone is snappier and more stable. You will not regret it.

I did the same thing. Wiped clean and reinstalled my apps. Much better this way!
