Re: Was updating to 2.2 worth it?

i am not seeing a problem with froyo at all. I see problems with apps such as swype but no problem with anything stock, so i won't contribute the bugs to froyo. Even when i had the leaked version i was not getting all the bugs everyone was talking about. Now with the lastest omj stock kernel rom (and wifi tether works) the stock browser is best, i haven't used dolphin since i updated. but i am waiting to see what dolphin has up their sleeves. I believe a lot of bugs are in that kernel, my phone just wouldn't act right with it some i just went rooted stock

Re: Was updating to 2.2 worth it?

No problems here. Working great on OMJ's .6 release with the modified kernel for wifi tethering. Just in case, I did do a nand backup of my OMJ 2.1 Rom.

I do like a lot of the enhancements on 2.2.

I utterly refused to use that custom kernal i was gonna wait it out no matter how long it took but the need for it has been eliminated. As for the browser i feel scrolling is horrible now an although i appreciate the adobe flash support it still needs work..an im not a fan of dolphin at all i wish skyfire would jus fix wuteva is wrong wit the video streaming feature.

my biggest gripe right now is battery life sucks even wit omj's rom, it was outstanding on his 2.1 but im goin to try a few more roms an decide then, I have my 2.1 nand backed up jus in case

I honestly dont understand what people do to have so many issues. I have absolutely NO issues with mine. No lag issues, no scrolling issues... no keyboard issues.

same here, no issues what so ever after the official upgrade. Overall operation of the phone is faster, games are smoother, battery life is the same if not better than 2.1.

Re: Was updating to 2.2 worth it?

OK, i thought i just had a bad flash, because i was hating 2.2 ... it did make the system faster but the screen lag/touch was killing me, i thought it was swype at first, so went to stock keyboard, then just gave up and went back to 2.1

I do miss the browser enhancements, but I figure i will give the cooks a couple of more days to bang out a few more stable version... and then go back...

Re: Was updating to 2.2 worth it?

It was totally worth it. I am not having any issues with the phone and as mentioned the battery life is just like before and the phone is much snappier.

Running stock, non-rooted.
