This comes from the Sprint store tech. He exchanged my boys phone under this premise..... They thought my boy put his charger in the wrong way and broke the port so they flagged his account and the rep at the Sprint store got his phone passed through with no insurance on the fact that they were having issues with the first batch of phones due to bad charger ports....

Did it just happen or did you use aftermarket chargers. I bought some mini to micro usb converters off ebay because i had a tone of mini usb cords and now I'm thinking maybe those were the culprits.

I had the same problem when I flashed .3 froyo......it totally went away when I flashed Netarchy's rooted .6 froyo

Try that first just in case.....I haven't had a problem with my generic cables since

I thought we were stuck if we were on .3. If you can point me in the direction to root this badboy i'd do that instead of waiting for a new shipment.

Re: Phone doesnt recognize charger

If you were rooted before and flashed .3 froyo, I imagine you can still boot into recovery and flash one of the new .6 froyo Roms from the Upgrades section...TMartin's looks like a good place to start

Re: Phone doesnt recognize charger

Thanks but from what I understand you have to flash that from a pc and my issue is the charge/usb port on my phone doesn't work so i can't sync to a PC.

Plus CFDragon said he flashed a rooted rom from .3, which I didn't think was possible.

Re: Phone doesnt recognize charger

I have problems with my usb as well, if my phone moves too much it will lose the connection and have to wiggle it to get proper connection back.

Thumbs down Re: Phone doesnt recognize charger

I've been fighting with sprint about this for a while now, since 8/14 to be exact. I purchased the phone on launch day. They say I damaged the port. I've called several times. I go to a repair center, they tell me it's customer abuse and to call customer service. I call customer service and they tell me to take it to a repair center. I've been using my Touch Pro 2 to charge my batteries for over a month. It's getting old. I refuse to pay out of pocket for a defective charge port. I have insurance, but sprint doesn't seem to give a rip about me. I have NEVER had an issue getting a phone replaced. One of the times I called, I finally got someone to listen and they sent me a replacement, but it was A TOUCH PRO 2! I sent it back on the 9/1 and they say they still haven't received it. Time to switch companies, I have never been hung up on this many times.
