New Evo Wont Root with Older Root Files
Hello Geekers hopefully there is an answer to this but for now this is what I'm coming up with.

I have a brand new EVO purchased today with the new 2.2 already loaded on it. (My EVO is already rooted ) I'm trying to root my friend phone. I have copied the needed files to the storage card as specified by the rooting tutorial. When I go into recovery mode it scans the files and when it gets to pc36img.zip it says " main version older" "update fail" and tells me to reboot. Can a New EVO from the store with 2.2 be rooted yet?

There isn't a way to root a device with 2.2 preinstalled as of yet.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. This should help alot of folks out. This may need to be posted on the tutorial for rooting temporarily until they figure out how to. I hit the thanks also.
