finally bought the hdmi cable for my evo.
plugged into the hdmi2 port in back of my tv.
plugged into my phone.
cant get it to work.
any help??

i actually bought it from verizon.
i was there today with my gf,who was having issues with her droid.

when you plug it into your tv, the notification area should notify you that your plugged into a tv.if not, maybe you have a bad cable?

no notification and the cable is brand spankin new out of the box.

the type D cable is extremely finicky... I'm waiting for Monoprice to get them back in stock then I'm just going to order 5 and hope one works!

you do know that HDMI out does not actually output WYSISYG (home screen, youtube, webkit, etc). for hdmi to work you must load up a video in the gallery or a slideshow, then the TV-device handshake will occur and 720p goodness will magically appear on your TV.

Video games, the youtube app, etc will not work over HDMI. Perhaps the devs (xda or here) are working on a solution for that - but i doubt we will see anything anytime soon as other issues are more pressing (fps "cap," crappy audio codec/problems getting AAC to work, reducing the compression of recorded video, etc).

^^ hahah. I wish! But ya just plug the cable into the tv and phone, make sure your on the right input channel on the tv (some of the newer tvs are weird about that) but then just play a video you recorded with the phone to make sure your cord works... and then wait till the devs fix it up so we can do cool stuff with it lol (you can unplug and use your phone while you wait
