Re: rooted 2.2 vs nonrooted 2.2 PRI Version is there difference 3G speeds
I have not noticed a difference. *I think* I had PRI 1.4 when I updated via the 1.47 software update. After rooting, I had the 1.34 PRI. I've been getting consistant speeds on 3G and 4G, so I can't say anything is different between the two versions.

Re: rooted 2.2 vs nonrooted 2.2 PRI Version is there difference 3G speeds
I'm stuck on version 1.34 and mine and is now slower then it was before on 1.4 version. I wish there was a way to update the pri to the current version.

I think 1.3 is fast. Out streams my Netflix Roku box just a well. Maybe the only difference is 1.4 blocks root, and they are counting on the psychological effect of the higher number to mess with peoples brains

Re: rooted 2.2 vs nonrooted 2.2 PRI Version is there difference 3G speeds
1.47 ROM came w/ PRI 1.40....they used an exploit in 1.34 to gain root, that's why were stuck w/ it for now.
I've complained about my download speeds since I got the Evo, but I was rooted within 30 mins, lol.....I got far better speeds on my Diamond

Re: rooted 2.2 vs nonrooted 2.2 PRI Version is there difference 3G speeds
Have you compared speeds of your rooted evo versus another unrooted evo at the same place and same time?
If not maybe goto a sprint store that has one or ask a friend who has one and to do a side by side speed test those who have shown a difference |

Re: rooted 2.2 vs nonrooted 2.2 PRI Version is there difference 3G speeds
Oh Yeah... BIG difference... 3G and 4G (4G in LA and still kind of not very well stablished but...)
A friend has a non-rooted phone and boy... am I jealous of him... ... but so far, nobody could fix it, I even tried unrooting and couldn't get 1.4 back... I am afraid we will never have 1.4 pri again... but hoping we will... |
