Using Tether on un rooted 2.2 Evo

Is it possible to tether on updated 2.2 froyo on evo that is not rooted? Without using pdanet or alike or using the sprint hotspot for 29.99?
Without Rooting
Would appreciate any input on this.

Without rooting or using third party app, it's not feasible. Sprint has shut it down (basically you'll get login invalid error if you attempt to do ICS.)

EasyTether is $10 which I think is well worth it.

you dont need to be rooted to use PDANET u can use it regardless and as far as the wireless tethering goes u need a rooted rom...sprint stock 2.2 rom is not yet rootable. but the best option is either u use pdanet or flash a rooted rom onto ur phone....
