I have a dumb question. If you don't tether, other than being able to run a custom rom what is the benefit of being rooted? Are the Android custom roms stable? The I ask is because when I had WINMO devices I flashed to custom roms all the time and they were never stable always had annoying bugs.

This is what I saw on Android Central... I'm guessing another patch will come out for those with the leaked rom.... or you could always revert with your Nandroid backup.... if you did one.

After seeing this post I tried a HTC update, got a screed saying an update is available. Currently downloading via WIFI... California, near San Francisco, 6:34pm.

Are you rooted? Same thing happened to me, stuck there for 30 minutes. Pulled the battery, back to the state I was before installing the update.

When they root this version thats what im gonna do... I installed the rooted version of the leak so I can still nandroid back to 2.1.. and when they root this official one ill nandroid to 2.1 and then flash this version.

Destin FL Here, and Stock Evo got the update when i checked.

Only problem was as usual i have to charge the battery to get the install to run
