I am sure they can tell what units updated via OTA and which are trying now to gain xx.6 that have xx.3, as well as those that declined the update.

I am almost positive they read full hardware/software versions/updates on your unit when you check for an OTA..

What is bullshit about it? We chose to install a leaked version. There is no significant differences between .3 and .6. So why does it really matter if HTC releases a fix today or a week from now? Everyone who installed .3, including me, took the chance that something like this would occur. If there were big changes between the versions or people not having the exact same issues (though I have no issues) on both versions I might understand why people are in such a rush for a fix.

I think there's rooted versions of.6 out, but I believe that doesn't mean there is yet a way to un-root the phone of those who didn't heed the advice to wait and not to apply the update. Search here in the upgrade section and at XDA in the development section.

Re: HTC Statement on Unofficial 2.2

How many here install leaked versions on their windows TP and TP2 here to see whatt was new. It is just thst this time HTC changed the way versions were checked and could not get the official ota.

Makes sense to me. Who better to do UAT than hundreds if not thousands of active Android/Evo enthusiasts. They know forums will light up with bug reports.

Assess bugs and feature requests reported, fix/add what they can in few days, then push gold.

Re: HTC Statement on Unofficial 2.2

Exactly why I waited for the ROOTED version of .3 before I flashed it... gotta always think ahead. What if the update had huge bugs in it and you werent rooted and couldnt flash back? Tisk tisk
