How I flashed HTC's Froyo 2.2 leaked ROM, and had NO ISSUES AFTERWARDS!

Well I don't post often or really at all, unless I have something productive to say.... or I'm drunk. (Both right now)

So here goes.....

These steps should work for EVERYONE rooted or not!

The bugs that exist in this version of this rom are, well.... non existent for me and i really belive its because i broke my back trying to do it so much that i finally just gave up and started from scratch.

1) Flash your evo back to stock. I mean all the way back to the origional rom that was on your phone when you first got it..... (WITHOUT THE IN-STORE APPLIED UPDATE)

Once the update completes you should no longer be rooted in any sense of the word. Completely stock..... if not, look for the officially shipped rom exe its floating around here in a bunch of threads, just search.

2) On your phone hit Menu>Setting>System Updates>HTC Software Update. Download the update and install it. I did this three times until i was finally up to date with whats officially out their as far as updates go.

3) Just download the leaked ROM now and rename it "update" and transfer it to your Micro SD card.
Dont put it in any folders just put it on the card.

4) Turn your phone off.

5) Press the evo's Power button and Volume Up button at the same time and hold it until you get into the boot loader menu.

6) Select the "Recovery" option.
the phone will now reboot.

7) You should now expect to see a red triangle with ! in the middle of it. When you see this graphic press the Power button and Volume up button again.

You will get another menu momentarily here just select update.

The update process will now begin and will probably take a few minutes (it did for me anyways)

Just wait now until the phone boots up into android and then wait some more because once it boots you will see another percentage ticker.

After that though your ready to go!

Have fun guys and realize that if SH$T wasnt hard to do you would never realize just how much you enjoy it. (once you have it)

P.S if I missed something, or its hard to understand let me know and ill fix it.... sorry for the detailed post but i would have like to have found this on post 1 of any thread and didn't so here's my version of it.
(I mean a way that worked for me, nothing else did...)

Thanks to everyone's posts in other threads that helped me get ANDROID FROYO 2.2 ON MY EVO!!!!!!

Ohh yeah.... I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU MESSING UP YOUR DEVICE>>> THIS POST JUST OUTLINES WHAT I DID TO MY PHONE AS AN INTELLIGENT INDIVIDUAL.

IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS POST PLEASE DO MORE RESEARCH UNTIL YOU DO!!!!

Again, Thank you PPCGeeks Community.

Well first off that HTC Froyo 2.2 isn't a leak to begin with. It is officially suppose to be out August 3rd on Sprint, but HTC decided to make it available a couple of days early. You have been able to get it from the official HTC website since yesterday.

It is disappointing to ponder the possibility that this is the final. Its issues are just as many as what came with the device.
