upgraded to froyo now camera problems

Well, I could not sit back and watch everyone else have so much fun. I had rooted my phone before the last update, but returned to stock to get the 1.47 update. Stayed at stock...just upgraded to froyo...so far everything works well EXCEPT my camera and the camcorder. When I select them I see it for a second and then the screen goes back to the screen I selected the Icon from, the brightness of the screen goes way up and then readjusts back to normal. So neither the camera or camcorder work for me at all. I don't have ANYTHING weird installed. hmmmmm

Did you use the rooted version at XDA? Which software version do you have?

I rooted using the root tutorial on this site...did full root and NAND unlock... then reflashed stock rom RUU and applied the 1.47 update a while ago.

Now have Software Number 3.26.651.3

EDIT...Just updated all my software from the market.... now they work....wondering if the version of FRING I was using (which just updated) had something to do with it... Now I am working fine.

It does not seem to like the multi-touch keyboard for the Droid though....

You used the OTA version and not a rooted version?

Re: upgraded to froyo now camera problems

Do you still have the superuser permission widget in your main apps drawer? I'm thinking you've lost root and may have trouble getting it back. There were some postings over in XDA that there were some camera issues and also from HTC that the version floating around may not be the final one that will be released on Tuesday.

When I flashed back to stock, I used the real stock version...so I lost root then. I was OK with that and then was able to apply the 1.47 update. Never rooted again...and did not have the superuser widget after going back to the std rom. I am ok with not having root and just updated to Froyo this morning....If you read my updated post above...everything now is working fine after updating my apps in the market. Not really sure what happend.

Re: upgraded to froyo now camera problems

I updated all of my apps too (only 4 needed updating) and I still have the issue. Others are having it as well (in other threads). It's good to know it is happening to those of you that used the real OTA (lost root) as well as those of us using the rooted stock OTA odexed. It must be something in the OTA. Boo...

Call this #

1-866-449-8358 and let them know of your issue. I'm wondering if people that have recently rooted there phones are the only ones having this issue...or have upgraded from a previous cooked ROM....but anyways any problems call this number and notify them of the issues.

Re: upgraded to froyo now camera problems

I had the issue with my camera/camcorder on my non-rooted EVO. Hard reset and all was fine afterwards......
