Re: android 2.2!!

Can't believe I just read this entire thread. I went over to XDA and got information overload so I figured I see what was going on over here at PPC.

I've a few questions for anyone who has the time.
  1. In your personal opinion, is this "testing" build worth it?
  2. Any bugs, I've read about a few minor ones.
  3. Lastly, following this quote \/\/ Does it really not wipe the device? Contacts, apps, widgets and all? Can't someone clearly define this for me?

Phew, the forums are on fire today. I'm going to let this thing simmer before I burn myself, lol. Not sure if I can wait till Tuesday and a final release though. :P

I haven't had any issues yet. I would not be surprised if this is actually the final build despite what HTC says, it just got released to more people than they planned. Was obviously a build for testers since it required bootloader. That said it matches up with the release version Sprint has on their support site, but guess we shall see in a few days if they change anything.

My contacts, texts, apps, widgets, scene, wallpaper, ring tones, etc were all still there after the update. I think it's worth it, I wasn't rooted or anything though.

No this isn't worth losing your root abilities. There is a rooted version of this to try if you want though.

Thanks guys, much obliged!
Exactly what I was looking for.

Not too worried about root though. There will be more rooted versions as time pasts.

I just wonder if when the final release is sent out next week I'll be able to update without a hitch. Because I'm sure we all remember what happened if you accidentally updated with the last OTA update twice.

The one with the HDMI output settings? Mmm, brickage!

Chances are far, but who knows.

Re: android 2.2!!

I'll reiterate what everyone else has said for the sake of making anyone that is still wondering feel better. Update went smooth. Just follow instructions and be patient as it will take a few minutes. Seemed forever since I'm used to the wham bam fashing on TP2s.

I flashed yest eve but havent had a chance to mess with my phone much. Noticed Sound and Display are now two different things and it added an attachment button in portrait mode text app. Maps, Dialer etc was caled something else before the flash.... Theres an App Sharing app and of course the Flashlight app as most have prob seen the screenshot of by now. Wish I had more info.

Sprint's support page now shows current version as 1.47 again.

What about games. Certain games would lag while using 2.1 or have a delay. Any changes?

Homerun battle 3d
Fifa 10
Comes to mind
