Loose HDMI port

So I just bought an HDMI cable and when I plug it into the HDMI port it's loose. I also have to hold it in a certain way for video to show on my tv. I can't tell if Its my phone or the cable. I was wondering if anyone have had the same issue.

Re: Loose HDMI port

if it is loose i would think most likely it is the port... if you move the cable does the internals move along with the cable or is it the cable only that moves.... how hard is it to plug into the hdmi port and how hard is it to take out?

Re: Loose HDMI port

It seems like the port is the problem. The connector on thecable does move but its not lose like how it is when plugged in. I'll probably take the cable to a Sprint store and try it on a display phone.

word good call sounds like a port issue than on your side if it fits snug.... it the fit was loose i could see it not making connection unless wiggled but you said was pretty tight.

Re: Loose HDMI port

i think its the port because i have a micro hdmi cable and its a snug fit when connected with the EVO. how long ago did you get the phone? and has the port always been loose or were you just able to tell now?

I just got the cable yesterday so I've never been able to test the port at all before. I did try moving the male connector in the port and it seems pretty solid. I think maybe the HDMI's female socket is slightly larger so it's not fitting too snug and not making good contact? I think going to the store is my best bet. By the way, where did you get your cable? If it's cable I think I will buy what you have.

Not bad. I paid $15 for mine including shipping. Thank you. If it's the cable I will definitely go with that one. How long did it take for you to get it?
