erasing text messages

everytime i try to erase text messages on my evo it just freezes up.i tried to just erase ten total messages and it still froze i have been having to do a hard reset. thanks in advance for any help

What apps have you installed on your device? Try getting text messages before you install any apps....then install one at a time...when the problem pops up...you know which app would be causing it. Are you running a Cooked ROM or are you rooted?

I tried running it with apps on my ph and no apps. currently no im running completely stock. i wonder if it has anything to do with when i pick a text message thread and it picks another thread instead.

Text messages have always been horribly slow to delete.. dont know why. But last I remember reading on this subject was that there is an app out there which deletes them a lot faster without locking your phone up.

Also you dont need to hard reset, your phone will unlock itself once its done deleting the messages.

A friend ended up doing a hard reset last week on his because it kept locking up deleting texts. I deleted a thread today that had at least 500 messages, it locked up the phone and force closed the messaging app twice but eventually deleted them. Phone was locked up for a few minutes.
