Power Off Problem

Every time i turn my phone off it seems to freeze when pluged in to the charger. After I turn it off I can go unplug it and the red charge light will stay lit. and it will not turn back on with the power button. I have to wait at lease 3 to 4 min for the light to go off after i unplug it to turn it back on.

Anyone have this problem?

Re: Power Off Problem

Nope sounds like you need too replace your phone. Are you stock our have you rooted it. Maybe it's not the phone but something you did. Good luck.

Re: Power Off Problem

Like any Android phone out there...you have to wait a few seconds for the phone to actually fully turn off. Android is based off linux...so when the screen turns off...it really isn't fully turned off...the phone is actually still shutting down. I wouldn't say your phone is bad...it may just be a app or program that is causing it to hang while shutting down. Try doing a Hard Reset of the phone or remove some apps that you installed since finding this issue. Then if that doesn't help...Hard Reset it...and see if that solves your issue. Worst case..the phone is defective and you need it replaced.

Wirelessly posted (Sprint Touch Pro: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_7; en-us) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Safari/530.17)

I have had this same problem, and I'm sure a hard reset would fix the problem I'm just too lazy to do it. I only power off my phone like once a week so it doesn't bother me to much, but when I do mine takes anywhere from 5 to 10 mins before I can power it back on.

Re: Power Off Problem

I had this problem after rooting to the ENG build (i actually had to pull the battery each time i powered off)
But flashing the "STOCK" rooted with ENG build the problem went away...

I would guess that a hard reset would solve your problem...

That would be your issue...The Evo is really picky with the what chargers you use...try the one that came with the phone...the HTC branded one..see if you have the problem anymore...I'm gonna guess you won't....these questions pop up in here all the time...and we find out the user is using a non HTC branded charger.
