Question Possibly ignored EVO bug?

Im starting to wonder if there is another SD card issue with the EVO thats getting ignored due to some of the other "issues". Recently, my sd card just died, no warning, no reason. I replaced it with the sd card from my Touch Pro 2 and everything works fine. Heres the odd part, the card that is unreadable in the EVO formats and works on the Touch Pro 2. Ive searched through these forums and over at XDA and i've noticed that many people are having similar issues with the SD card.

Re: Possibly ignored EVO bug?

I've tried 5 different MicroSD cards, that had all had previous use in my TP2, and I've not had a single issue.

Re: Possibly ignored EVO bug?

I had problems with the original so I switched with my tp2 and haven't had any problems since then.

Re: Possibly ignored EVO bug?

Yea, doesnt seem like an issue on the Evo's part. Something wrong with your SD. Used the same 16 gb from my TP2 since launch day with no problems.

Re: Possibly ignored EVO bug?

First Gen Evo's had a bad batch of SD Cards...and from what I heard and saw was that HTC changed them to Samsung branded 8GB cards...from the Sandisk they were using. Check your cards to see which one you have. Also have you upgraded your Evo's to the latest OTA update? I heard that they addressed some memory card issues with one of the 3 OTA's they have released.

I would hope if the SD Cards are bad, that HTC or Sprint will replace them free of charge...since it came with the phone...and should be covered under warranty. Not sure how they would go about it though...I would call and check first.

Re: Possibly ignored EVO bug?

Well, if the first batch of SD's were bad that might explain alot. I have a launch day EVO with the sandisk SD card. I still dont know why it works in the Touch Pro 2 but not in the EVO
