Re: Need tech Help phone not working
1. Do a Nandbackup
2. Flash back to stock 3. Go to a store and get them to fix your connectivity issue. 4. Reflash back to where you were before. (GoTo Step 1) |

Re: Need tech Help phone not working
I found that on some of the winmo roms (someone reported this on one of the Android roms aswell) that sometimes the ## codes won't work for whatever reason. Just flash back to stock and you shouldn't have an issue.

Re: Need tech Help phone not working
##MSL# (MSL= your phone's 6 digit programming code) will allow you to program your MDN and MSID.
Rooting and flashing a custom rom should not mess with the phone portion settings. If your phone worked previously with your old number and all you did not was have your number changed, the phone should still work, it just needs the MSD/MSID programmed correctly. The MDN is actually your complete 10 digit number, the MSID can be the same exact number or another 10 digit number. as is the case with my phone. You can also access the MSID using ##DATA#. You can try ##DATA+Talk button, usually when using custom roms the ## codes break or change how you "press enter" on the command.. If you understand your phone's file structure, you could look for the EPST program via CLI if you are rooted I think and run it on your phone as well. You will most probably have to know your MSL, which the tech should have just gave it to you to walk you through reprogramming your phone. EDIT: I just tried to run my EPST via terminal emulator and received a permission denied, meaning it's in path and can be run, but I can't since my phone isn't rooted.

Re: Need tech Help phone not working
As another person mentioned, I only suggested flashing back to stock in case the tech refuses to work on the phone. I'm using Stock Rooted ROM and don't have issues so far.

Re: Need tech Help phone not working
It is highly probable that rooting and/or flashing your phone has interfered with its ability to accept OTA provisioning for new phone settings. The symptom you are describing is similar to launch day difficulties I was having because of the massive amout on provisioning they were doing... they were overloaded and the phones were taking a long time to complete. In your case, the issue is probably that your phone is unable to accept the OTA provisioning at all.
Go to settings, system updates, and select Update Profile. If your phone still doesnt work, reflash to stock and do Update Profile again. This is why I don't mess with custom ROMs. They were a necessity on WinMo... but Droid rocks on its own.
