Dual Led Flash, too bright?

Is there a way to tone down or have the phone only use one of the two led for flash?

It's just too bright for trying to take up close facial pictures in dim lighting.

+1!

Would love to have the option of just one diode emitting light.

+1 as well... Took a few pictures last weekend in a dark environment and faces were completely washed out.

Re: Dual Led Flash, too bright?

Like the TP1...you could have the option of using one or both LED lights...there is probably a program on the android market to fix this, if not head over to XDA Developers and ask someone there if they can make one for you.

Your best bet is to set exposure at -3 when taking close up pictures in dark environments w/ flash. It does help a bit. I think the LED flash for the camera is basically useless as it doesn't increase shutter speeds and even if you get a shot which isnt horribly overexposed, you get motion blur.

Basically, the camera is pretty useless in low light situations and it really irks me.

See this thread at XDA.

Re: Dual Led Flash, too bright?

an option: use the led desire light app and set the light on a lower setting, then open the camera to take a picture.

unfortunately the light will turn off after one picture and you'll need to restart the app again.

I disagree completely, I go out at night a LOT and my pictures come out great, granted I have to step VERY far away from who I'm taking pictures of to avoid washing out their faces but the pics come out great and I definitely use and appreciate the quality of the camera on this phone quite a bit more than any other camera phone I've had.
