the SD card...

First off, my SD card took a dump. i plugged it in, after it had been working for a month, and it now asks me to format it every time i plug it in. i didnt lose much data so not really a big deal but are these just cheap SD cards?

Second, is it just me or is it !#$ing impossible to remove the SD card unless you are Mr. Tiny hands or use tweezers or needle nose pliers? seems like a very lame design...

anyway i ordered a 16gb Kingston from Newegg. is any one else using this SD card?

Re: the SD card...

I would bet the 8GB cards included with the EVO are cheap, no question. I am a big guy with big hands and found it difficult the first time I tried to swap out my card. But after that first learning experience, I have had no issues with it.

I also have a 16GB Kingston and it works great. Looks like the same one, though I got mine from amazon.

Re: the SD card...

Static electricity sucks... Thus risk zapping your card every time you take it out. Risk of contaminating or bending the contacts also stinks..

I got that $26 shipped SanDisk 16gb class 2, popped it in and have not taken it out. Been working like a charm.

Re: the SD card...

Anyone try the specific software for formatting an SD card? I found it totally by accident when I had to refromat my card. Of course, now, I can't find the link again.

Wait, found the link:

Ive mastered the technique lol. You just got to go at it from the right angle. Usually straight on works best

Re: the SD card...

This is why I sync my SD card with my laptop everyday. I had this happen to me once and lost a ton of "private videos" that I hadnt backed up yet. Ever since, I sync my memory card to my pc on a daily and backup everything.

What are you using to sync your card? I can't get HTC Sync to work, and I don't know any software (sprite backs up TO the SD card or the cloud) that backs up an SD card to a PC.

Any suggestions?
