MSL Code question...

I have a question regarding the MSL code. I don't think mine has changed throughout the time I've been at Sprint. I've gone through at least three phones of different models and I think (can't remember because I don't) my MSL has always been the same.

Is the MSL tied to the subscriber line or the phone's ESN or some other number?

Sorry if this is a really basic question.

I used to get mine by usig a minmo program called getspc. It used the phones esn to produce the unlock code so im assuming that it's by the phone

Did you write down the one time and secondary programming codes when you activated? The MSL is usually the secondary code.

Definately differs by phone.

MSL is based off your phone's electronic serial number, so it has to have changed. unless by some miracle your phones all came out with the same MSL combo..

Actually the MSL can be programmed to any set of 6 digits, it is possible, but if taken out of a new retail box and activated, they should have had different MSL.

Verizon, Metro PCS and Cricket usually have theirs pre-set to 000000

Thanks, all, it just seems weird but I swear my MSL hasn't changed. Maybe it has and I'm just not remembering what it was before.

You can always ask sprint for it. If someone gives you a hard time, just say you can't make calls and need to re program your phone. when they walk you thru it, just write down the MSL code and save it somewhere
