Sprint ALMOST caught me slipping...

So I had a little too much to drink last night and I see a notification to upgrade come up on my EVO. (I know being drunk with an EVO is just like being drunk with your kids.) I say to myself "hay lookie" I can upgrade. Then my cousin told me what it was and what would happen if I did upgrade. I just pulled the battery out. I know it was a little overboard, but hey. Burp.

Re: Sprint ALMOST caught me slipping...

you know, i also received a notification for an update and i am rooted with OMJ's 1.6 ROM. does the update service not check to see what version you have already? OMJ's ROM is based off the 1.47 version...

They push it. I don't "think" it checks to see what version of ROM you have installed. Not sure about this, but I could be wrong.

Go into settings>HTC software update and uncheck scheduled check. The pop up will no longer plague you.

It updates your phone to the next to last update 2.1_update of the Android OS.

At first it cause some people issues, but they stopped pushing it, "fixed those bugs," and then sent it out again. I updated and have had 0 issues.

Of course, if you have your phone rooted then you'll have to start from the beginning. But I doubt you have yours rooted so no need to worry!
