Can,t root my evo!!!

it seems im having a lil problem i did everything as mentioned i even watch couple of videos on how to do it and notin i try PC36IMG.zip and when i enter the bootload it say the update is older than curent version or some like that i just bought my phone yesterday and as soon as the gave it to me it ask me for a software update wich i did does that something to do it it? im coming from winmo where things seem to be pretty differnt

First, you should go to menu>settings>about phone>software.

If you see version "1.47.651.1" then you should go here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=792 and download the files there and follow those instructions.

I have the same problem simple root says old version on step 1 thats the problem

you have ota 1.47 thats why you cant root using the old method
you have to use the new method
