Re: cant "downgrade" from ruu installer.
I'm on the same page as ProAndroid. I jacked something along the way and am trying to do everything over since I'm a newbie to rooting. I'm trying to restore my phone to stock to start everything over.
I read through the forums and found the RUU package and all of the instructions. I have reinstalled HTC Sync a few different times. I boot the phone, put it in HTC Sync mode, open the RUU tool and let it do its thing. It reboots my phone and stays on the HTC black screen and doesn't let me get past that. I did notice that a new Bootloader driver is installed when the device reboots to the black screen. This driver required a restart of my computer and it's just an endless loop. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, loading the RUU while in the black screen and nothing. Any other ideas? |

Re: cant "downgrade" from ruu installer.
its pretty simple to get around, I ran into the same problem. If your already rooted w/recovery installed.
1. take the ruu exe with the stock image you want, run it and have it extract everything, then when it pops up the first screen that wants to have you agree and click next to flash, go to start, run, type %temp%, and look for the newest time stamped folder, go inside and you should have all of the files needed to flash your phone, get the PC36IMG.zip file, and copy it to another location. 2. Connect your phone to you computer, select disk drive option, copy the zip file to your root folder. 3. reboot to recover, select flash zip from SD, select the image file you just put there, and let it flash.... 4. it will flash the stock image, after it boots up ( may take a couple times it will flash boot loader, radio, and everything ) you want to reset to stock so it cleans up everything. This should get you going, it worked for me. |
