screan blinking

ok so i searched and was unable to find the answer to this

as i use my evo the screan blacks out and promptly comes back on, only to go back out prior to me being able to touch any onscrean widgets.
i have already set my screan to sleep at 2minuts has anyone figured out how to fix this?

please help

You sure its not you just blinking your eyes? Ok sorry, I thought that was funny. Anyway, the first question would be to see what type of apps and/or mods you have done to the phone.

lol just wrong for that one!


i have advance task killer, imobsters, shapewroter, solitary, aka ringtones, barcode scanner... not much at all

also noticed it prior to installing these
also running stock rom

I would try to do a factory reset and if that doesn't work i would use the ruu file and reflash and if neither of those work i would talk to sprint.

Did you do the latest OTA update? And if so has it been acting like this since then or even before?

Prox sensor issue maybe? Either that or one of the apps you have installed is causing the screen issue. Try unistalling them and see if it goes away. If not...Hard Reset the device and hope that works.

im clueless as to what a ruu file is

Just do a hard reset and use the phone before adding any other apps and see if it still does it and if it doesnt then add an app or two at a time to see what may be causing if it still continues.

will do, will this cause my contacts to go away?

Is all your contacts synced with google? If it is once you hard reset and then sign back in with your google account it will put them back on automatically.
