Does anyone else know this? Tapping on the 3G logo activates 3G?

So, I've been frustrated with the Beautiful Home widget for showing the time and date and pretty weather icon. The time doesn't update. Then, I discovered a neat thing, if you tap on the 3G text, the two letters that actually say "3G" at the top of the right side of the device, 3G activates.

The reason I found this fascinating is because I've set the beautiful Home widget to update with GPS, so, when the 3G is tapped a few times, it starts up for a millisecond or two, then it also starts up GPS, and the time magically updates.

So, it seems there are two things I discovered...

1. Beautiful Home widget doesn't update the time until GPS (if activated at all IS activated)
2. Tapping the 3G text at the top of the device activates 3G.

Does anyone know of anything else that is active on these devices that didn't seem so obvious? Or am I completely deluding myself and this isn't really anything more than a coincidence and 3G is activating whether I tap on it or not?

Are all of you going to be tapping on the little "3G" text now to see if this is really true?

ok, my time updates on my beautiful home widget w/o gps being activated. weather conditions too. (i assume by "my location") and if i tap the '3G' it just begins to drop down the notification curtain.

so in short. WTF are u talkin bout?

OKay, instead of dragging down on the "3G" I tapped on the text. The curtain only drops down for me if I drag down, otherwise, not.

I was asking if anyone else had this effect when tapping on the "3G" at the top, not dragging the curtain down.

Geesh, it was an experiment. Not saying I was right.

Not trying to give you a hard time, but when about 6 different people don't seem to know what your talking about then it maybe you. Clicking on the 3G does nothing. With that said maybe if your in a 4G area it will do something. I am not in a 4G area so I have no idea. OK thats done whats next?

if i tap it it begins the animation. IE the full date fades in and the curtain begins to drop. have u run the latest OTA u may be exp. the old grounding issue where the top of the screen wouldnt respond correctly.
