anybody get a evo as a replacement from sprint?

i was just curious if anybody has successfully gotten a htc evo as a replacement for there defective phones at all? im on my 4th defective hero and i know im in the right to ask for a different model phone. ive only heard of one guy on xda that talked sprint into giving him the evo for free other than him paying for sales tax. im about to call sprint tonight and work my magic and i needed some tips. ive been a sprint customer for 5 years and im a premier customer too. but im not due for an upgrade until november and i don't want a 5th hero.

Here's my story. I have the 10 off a month for 24 months and anoth 10 off a month from previous problems and one guy just offering it. I got a bad evo and then another bad evo. I also had a week long BS with trying to activate a hero with a bad ESN that sprint said was good. I ended up getting another hero (got my money back for the first thank God) and then activating it. Well when calling order support about my second bad EVO she made me talk to technical support to document the back of the battery cover not fitting! Well good thing she did the technical support lady was a little annoyed with the order support lady for putting me through this and then she looked over my account. She asks me if I give you $250 credit on your next bill will you stay with Sprint for another 2 years? I was like hell yeah! I got my replacement ordered and sure enough had a $250 credit waiting for me on my next bill.

I'll get my next replacement later tonight lets hope the third is the charm!

One thing to keep in mind is that 2 of my line were up for newal/cancellation and I have 4 lines total on the everything plan. The other two were going to come up for renewal in August and September so that may have factored into it. I was blown away by the credit and didn't quite believe it until I saw it!

Re: anybody get a evo as a replacement from sprint?

No go, they wanted to ship me another refurb hero, i told them to shove it. i talked to 6 people and spent 3hrs on the phone with them. one guy actually told me he could get me an evo but of course the dipshi* didn't note the account. i hate sprint with a passion. they told me in the end that they are giving evo's out to no one for free, if you want one you have to pay full price or wait until your upgrade and pay the difference. what a bunch of crap!

Oh well in a few months im sure i will be able to pick one up on craiglist for $150 or so.

Probably not, but go ahead and try. The hero wasn't like the touch pro that sprint was happy to get rid of and give people touch pro 2's...

Second.

Also dude are you sure your hero's are broken? Lol if your just trying to get a free bee it wont happen, the Evo is still selling like hot cakes and Sprint isnt handing anything out that falls in line with the evo.
